Biography
Lee Haney was born on November 11, 1959, in Fairburn, Georgia. He attended the Spartanburg Methodist College in Spartanburg, North Carolina. He graduated with a degree in youth counseling. Haney got into bodybuilding as a teenager and won his first award in 1979, at the age of 20. Former American president Bill Clinton made him chairman of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, a position that was occupied by Schwarzenegger until then. Lee retired in 1991, at the age of 31. He now lives with his wife, Shirley, in Atlanta. They have two children.
