LZ Granderson is an American commentator and journalist working for CNN and ESPN. He writes one column for CNN every week. He is also a columnist and senior writer for ESPN.com page 2 and ESPN magazine. Besides all this, he is also the commentator for the U.S open tennis tournament.  He has also hosted Game Night, a web-based ESPN360 talk show.

He was 21 at the time he married her and it’s before he came out as gay.  Yes, I know it’s a bit confusing but he actually had a wife, a woman who bore him a son called Isaiah. Now, he has a new life partner. His name is Steve Huesing. He is also the Interim President of Chicago’s Marriage Equality USA and ULTA Beauty’s Merchandising Operations Director.

LZ Granderson was born Elzie Lee Granderson on March 11, 1972. He is 45 years old. He was raised in Detroit, Michigan. As he grew up, he developed a passion for National Hockey League and ice hockey.

LZ attended Western Michigan University based in Kalamazoo, Michigan. Before working for ESPN, he was a columnist and sportswriter for The Grand Rapids Press and The Atlanta Journal-Constitution respectively. He now writes one weekly article for CNN.com and two articles for Page 2.

Granderson has won the award for online journalism titled Gay and Lesbian Alliance against Defamation. This was in the year 2009. He got a nomination for the same award in 2010. He is also the winner of National Lesbian and Gay Journalists Association in 2008 and 2010.

In 2011, his article “Parents, don’t dress your girls like tramps” was the fourth most shared article on Facebook. It also appeared on CNN’s website.  Another column “Permissive parents: Curb your brats,” was number 28 on Facebook’s top 40. We can go on and on about his achievements, but one thing is for sure, this guy is very talented.
