Career, Early life
David Quinn went professional with his career after being drafted. He played under the collegiately for Boston University. After the junior season ended, he tried out for the 1988 Olympic team for the United States. Sadly, during his tryouts, he was diagnosed with Hemophilia B, a condition whereby the blood does not clot properly. Due to the disorder, he was forced to retire from the game.
Later on, David Quinn was able to get funding for expensive medication to try and contain the issue. After containing the disease, he went for the try offs for the 1992 Olympic team but did not succeed. Despite the drawback, New York Ranger was attracted by his game, and he professionally signed a contract with them in February 1992. He finished the 1991 and 1992 season while playing for the team.
