Aaron Kaufman is returning to Discovery with his new show, Shifting Gears. Fans can expect to see the Bearded Wonder back on TV on March 5, 2018. This will be his first appearance after leaving Gas Monkey Garage and Fast N’ Loud in early 2017.

When asked about his future prospects after leaving his hit show, Kaufman was positive he would return to television.
Speaking to Art of Gears in February 2017, he said, “We are having conversations about TV, but if I do it I want to be ecstatic about it. I want to be very proud of the program and the parts that I make, so we are really looking at a fresh approach to making automotive television. If we go back to building cars on TV, it will be based on the premise fun with cars.”
He later announced the launch of his new hot rod shop in Dallas called Arclight Fabrication.
Kaufman’s return to television was always expected and now the premiere date for his new show, Shifting Gears, has been finally revealed. Shifting Gears with Aaron Kaufman will premiere on Discovery on March 5, 2018 at 10pm ET/PT.
The show will focus on the manufacture and renovation of Ford F-100 trucks. Shifting Gears’ first season will be all about seeing whether the builds of Arclight Fabrication are up to the challenge.
Kaufman will be closely working with a hand-picked team of five to test his vehicles in the harshest conditions. Kaufman’s team consists of Josh Freeman, Jonathan Rodriquez, Jason Bowman, Jeremy Webster and Jonathan Mansour.
The trailer of the show shows Kaufman dealing with the task of transforming a dilapidated International Scout to an Ultra4 rig. The crew will also to race their build at King of the Hammers – one of the hardest off-road racing events. They are also tasked with getting the truck a license plate.
