Turkish Cypriot Touker Suleyman was born in 1953. He is one of Britain’s most famous investors and fashion retail entrepreneurs. He is widely known as the owner of ‘Hawes & Curtis‘. Founded in 1913 by tailors Ralph Frederic and George Frederic Curtis, ‘Hawes & Curtis’ currently has almost 30 stores in the United Kingdom. Suleyman owns a great number of properties around the world. He also owns the well known ‘Ghost‘ brand, as well as ‘Low Profile Group‘, but we’ll talk about these a bit later. Suleyman can be seen on BBC’s ‘Dragon’s Den‘, show that he joined in 2015 as an investor. Although he is now one of Britain’s richest entrepreneurs, things have not always been this good for him. We shall explore this subject too, as well as the businessman’s family and wife. First of all, let’s see what his sources of income and net worth are.
Touker Suleyman’s net worth
The Turkish Cypriot’s net worth is generated by his many companies and investments. He started his first business, now known as ‘Low Profile Group’, in 1984. Initially, it was a rather small business, but it slowly grew up, starting to do business with large brands, such as ‘Marks and Spencer‘ (M&S). Founded in 1884 in Leeds, M&S is a multinational retail company that specializes in selling luxury food products, home products, and clothing. Suleyman’s business operates in Turkey, Bulgaria, and Georgia.
Having an enormous success with his first business, Suleyman managed to generate a quite notable net worth. However, he did not limit himself to that. In 2001, he decided to buy ‘Hawes & Curtis’. In only three years, the company’s annual income went from £600,000 to £30 million.
The company is now one of Suleyman’s main sources of income, generating the greatest part of his net worth. It has 30 branches in the UK and one in Germany. In 2013, Suleyman and Korath Holding, one of the oldest business groups in the UAE, signed a 5 million dollars deal.
By 2018, ‘Hawes & Curtis’ should have 26 more stores throughout the Persian Gulf. This would bring a massive boost in the entrepreneur’s total net worth. Five years before signing this deal, Touker was acquiring ‘Ghost’, a popular fashion label.
His net worth does not come only from fashion, as he has invested in other fields as well. This includes: luxury handbag manufacturer Huxley & Cox, Docks Rio (shoe brand), Bikesoup, and Intelligent Futures. The man’s total net worth is estimated to be a whopping 150 million pounds.

Short Biography
The magnate was born in Famagusta, Cyprus, as Türker Süleyman, in 1953. He and his family moved to Camberwell, UK when Touker was only 5 years old. He has a brother called Mustafa. Touker attended Peckham Manor School. Initially, he worked in his father’s restaurant, where he says he acquired a strong work ethic.
After that, he worked as an accountant for only 5 pounds per week. Touker was intrigued by retail from a young age, as he bought clothes for his grandmother, who would then sell them to her friends. He started his own business at the young age of 18. Although it was a risky move, his decision obviously paid up. Years later, he acquired ‘Hawes & Curtis’ for the symbolic sum of £1. At the time, his company was manufacturing for Ralph Lauren Europe.
Suleyman supports various charity organizations, such as Retail Trust, The Prince’s Trust and WellChild. The latter focuses on providing the best care for young people and children across the UK, regardless of diagnosis or location. Suleyman’s ‘Hawes & Curtis’ launched a series of products intended to raise funds for WellChild. They sold 250 ties, 600 shirts and 50 pairs of cufflinks. The total profits (more than 8 thousand pounds) went entirely to the charity.
In 2015, the businessman joined the cast of BBC’s ‘Dragon’s Den’. A huge fan of the show, as he said, Touker immediately agreed. He stated that joining the show was not only a great opportunity to invest and earn more, but also to share his experience and knowledge. During the show’s 13th series, Suleyman invested in 4 businesses, ranging from chocolate brownies to wooden mechanical kits. The next season, he invested in 5 more businesses. Therefore, the magnate’s net worth is undoubtedly growing fast.
