When it comes to news anchors, they have a more significant role than we estimate considering our daily dependence on them for news. So it is not very strange to notice a favorite anchor’s absence in the news program. Like how viewers were quick to notice the absence of beloved WFAA host Ron Corning and have them asking, “Where did Ron Corning go?”. Find out what he is up to now and also take time to learn about his background.
Where is Ron Corning Now?
Ron Corning is the host of the ABC affiliated WFAA program ‘Daybreak’. He has been loyal to his important post for more than 6 years now after starting work in WFAA in April 2011.
However, he has been missing in action for some time now and the viewers have taken a notice of a sudden change in their daily basis. Could Ron have left the network without a word? Well actually no Ron Corning is very much still working as WFAA host and according to his Instagram profile, he is just taking a much needed time off on the beach.
Many people were worried about the host not just for being replaced but also due to his health issues. Ron Corning had previously undergone a surgery and his absence was connected with the cause. Regardless his fans can be relieved that Ron is perfectly fine and will resume his role soon enough.
Ron Corning’s Background
Although, the thinking that Ron had left the network may not be a far-fetched idea since looking into his background, he has played for a lot of teams when it comes to his career.
He had started off his rookie broadcasting career as an assignment reporter for CBS affiliate WDTV and then moved on to anchoring for its NBC affiliate rival, WBOY on weekdays.
Likewise, he also worked for KTVI and KCPQ. He only began his national career as a news anchor for ‘The Daily Buzz’, an American breakfast show.
He again worked for CBS between 2004 and 2006. He would appear in World News Now and ABC World News This Morning.
In 2006 he was named as one of the People Magazine’s ‘Most Beautiful People’ and MSN also named him one of ‘The Best Anchors’.
He also co-anchored Good Day New York with co-anchor Jodi Applegate. Unfortunately, Ron was let go by the Fox station in 2008 and the same fate would follow his colleague Applegate later that year.

The two came together again as co-anchors of Cablevision’s News 12 Long Island.
After all these gigs, Ron seems to have finally found his calling in WFAA in Dallas Texas where he works till today and things seem to be going still for him as there is not much to report about it in 2017.
