Shaquille O’Neal is a man who needs no introduction, the heavyweight who dominated the Basketball court in his whole career. But many people don’t know that he also has led a significant married life and became a father to many beautiful children.

So here you have it, all there is about Shaq’s five children. Know who his sons are daughters are with a short bio on each of them but first learn about Shaq’s married and dating life.

Shaquille O’Neal Married, Divorce and Dating Life

Shaquille O’Neal was married only once in his life and to his former wife, Shaunie Nelson. They got married on December 26, 2002. They ran into some marital problem not so long after which prompted Shaq to almost go through with a divorce on September 4, 2007, in a Miami-Dade circuit court.

However, the couples seem to have somehow made it work as Shaunie later said that they were back again. But, their divorce seemed only to have been postponed as two years later on November 10, 2009; it was Shaunie who filed and intent for the divorce. Irreconcilable differences were listed as the cause of the divorce.

Despite their failed marriage, it was a productive one as the majority of his kids came out of it. Sons; Shareef and Shaqir and daughters Amirah and Meerah were all products of Shaquille O’Neal with ex-wife Shaunie Nelson.

Shaquille O’Neal, however, already had a child before his married life began. His eldest daughter is Taahirah O’Neal, with a former girlfriend, Arnetta Yardbourgh.

Since his ex-wife, Shaq O’Neal has been in dating relationships with multiple partners. He was dating reality TV star Nicole Alexander or Hoopz from 2010 to 2012. Since 2014 he has also bee dating a model by the name of Laticia Rolle.

Eldest Daughter Taahirah Yardbourgh

Taahira Yardbourgh was born on July 18, 1996, in Orlando, Florida. Taahira currently lives with her mother in Houston, Texas.

She is currently 23 years of age. We remember because two years ago, for her 21-year birthday bash, her father Shaquille O’Neal went all out for the celebration booking the Life HTX venue in Montrose and throwing an all-white party. He had Chloe Dao, Project Runway season 2 winner, to design a beautiful white gown for her daughter. She even arrived at her party in a spectacular white Bentley.

It must really pay-off to have a celebrity parent who can afford to throw a bash like that.

She graduated from college this year in 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology from Oglethorpe University. Her minor was in politics and African-American science.

Taarah does well to keep her head out of all the media attention because of her famous father. However, long back in 2004, we would never have expected her to come up in the news the way she did. One of their housekeepers was stabbed to death by her son in their then-family home in Sugar Land, Texas.

Other than that, we don’t get to hear much about Taarah’s personal life, but she seems to be doing academically well. More updates will follow on Taarah, but until then, this is all we have for you.

Prodigy Son Shareef O’Neal

Shareef O’Neal is the oldest of Shaq’s children born on January 11, 2000. He can easily be considered Shaq’s prodigy. Shareef is one of the top college basketball players who are playing for the UCLA Bruins. He excelled in national high school basketball leagues, as well.

His official debut with UCLA was a little delayed due to his medical problems. After feeling funny, Shareef was medically checked to discover that he had a heart defect and had to undergo a surgery in December 2018.

All went well, and he has now been delivering excellent performance with the Bruins in exhibition games and in the Drew League before that. Shareef, who plays power forward, has been quoted to having a playing style and role utterly different than that of his much bigger father.

His career is going well, and all but his relationship with his father is our major concern. Luckily, that seems to be going well too. On his return after the surgery, he was interviewed and questioned about his father.

Shareef, O’Neal, instantly had a smile every time he talked about his father. He spoke of his father’s tattoo on one of his calves, which were from one of the very first games he went to. Shaq had delivered a stunning dunk and then pointed at the box suites. Even Shareef knew about it after he was a lot older than Shaq was actually pointing and dedicating the shot to him, so he had to get the moment tattoed.

Eldest Daughter Amirah O’Neal

Shareef may be called the prodigy, but that does not mean Amirah is any less passionate about basketball. She is currently just in high school at Crossroads high school in Santa Monica, California. Whether she keeps pursuing her athletic career like her brother when she gets out is up to her; however, she does show exceptional skills.

Amirah has an average score of 17.2 scores and was an honorable mention MaxPreps 2019 California All-State Girls Basketball Team. You can a lot of her gameplays in Youtube.

Amirah Sanaa O’Neal was born on November 13, 2001, and plays high school basketball on national levels. We are sure we will get to hear even more things about her as soon as she pursues a basketball in college as well. We are sure she is going to kill it.

Younger Son Shaqir O’Neal

Shaqir O’Neal may be overshadowed by his father and older brother’s status and career, but he is no, no-name either. He has shown real promise as a high school basketball player while playing for Crossroads, just like his sisters as a freshman. However, he now has transferred to Union Grove High school in Georgia.

Until now, Shaqir has been considered only a 3-star player, but sources say things are about to change. He has now shifted schools for his sports career and is now just starting his growth spurt. Shaquir is 6 feet, 5 inches at just 16 years old. He also does not play an aggressive role like his father or brother as he is a point guard, but he still manages to get important shots for his team.

Finally, his father has apparently not let him hit weights yet, so he is skinny. As soon as he gains some muscle, he will undoubtedly play a lot more aggressive. He had already impressed a lot of NCAA scouts and coaches when he played at their basketball camp earlier this year.

Younger Daughter Me’arah O’Neal

Finally, we come to Shaq’s youngest daughter, Me’arah O’Neal. She currently studies and plays basketball from the Crossroads high school. She was born on May 2, 2006, and also loves to play basketball like the rest of her siblings and father.

As far as her future and career are concerned, we know that she will unfortunately not be able to play varsity basketball because of certain CIF (California Interscholastic Federation) rules. But knowing the family’s talent in the sport, we are sure she will find a way around it.

Step-Son Miles O’Neal

Miles O’Neal initially went by the name of Miles Nelson from his mother, Shaunie Nelson. He was her child from a previous relationship before she was married to Shaq O’Neal, born on May 8, 1997. He had his name changed later in 2002 after she got married to Shaq.

Unlike his five step-siblings, Miles O’Neal is not so professionally vested to basketball. Instead, he turned to model from a young age of 21 years and that too with a reputed brand like Dolce and Gabbana in their spring 2018 show for Milan Fashion Week. He has also been part of other big-name brands like Chanel, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Alexander Wang, Vera Wang, and H&M. He has an Instagram page with over 195k followers.
